Katja studied law at the University of Amsterdam, graduating in 2008 in Dutch private law and criminal law. After graduating, she worked for over three years as a lawyer at Simmons & Simmons in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. She successfully completed the Law Firm School course in 2010. Katja completed the specialisation course of the Landlord-Tenant Lawyers Association (VHA) cum laude in June 2016. In 2017 and 2018, Katja was a committee member of the NRW (Nederlandse Raad Winkelcentra) New Generation. She is also a member of the Landlord-Tenant Lawyers Association (VHA).
Katja has extensive experience in property law, including landlord-tenant law, construction law, purchase and sale, and the general law of obligations. She regularly publishes articles on the above topics in, among others, the Journal of Commercial Landlord and Tenant Law (Tijdschrift voor Huurrecht Bedrijfsruimte) where she is a permanent contributor.
Katja has worked at BRICKS Advocaten since 1 September 2012, focusing in particular on litigation and consultancy in the field of construction law and commercial landlord-tenant law.
